Slash Commands

/countdown <title>
🔹 Search SIMKL/TMDb for a movie or show.
🔹 Returns an embed with poster art, ratings, premiere date, and a live countdown timer.
🔹 Includes quick links back to SIMKL (show/movie page + SIMKL live countdown page).

The countdown timer prediction logic is as follows:

  1. If greater than or equal to 1 week away → shows in weeks (e.g. “in 2 weeks”).
  2. If greater than or equal to 2 days away → shows in days (e.g. “in 6 days”).
  3. If greater than or equal to  1 day away but less than 2 days → shows in days but with singular (“in a day”).
  4. If greater than or equal to  1 hour away but less than 1 day → shows in hours (e.g. “in 5 hours”).
  5. If greater than or equal to  1 minute away but less than 1 hour → shows in minutes (e.g. “in 17 minutes”).
  6. Less than 1 minute away → switches to seconds (e.g. “in a few seconds”).
  7. Once the time passes → flips to past tense (e.g. “6 minutes ago”).

/discover trending
🔹 Shows a top-10 list of movies or TV currently trending on SIMKL.
🔹 Each entry includes title, release year, SIMKL link, or TMDb link.

/discover anticipated
🔹 Shows a top-10 list of movies or TV with upcoming premieres in the next <n> days.
🔹 Sorted by popularity, each entry links to SIMKL or TMDb.

The Live Timer

The live timer counts down in real time for 60 seconds after you run /countdown.

  • After 60s, the display stops updating.

  • If you want to see the exact remaining days, hours, minutes, seconds, click the 🔄 Live Timer button.

  • That will restart the timer in a private (ephemeral) view for another 60s, just for you.

The Buttons

Each /countdown embed includes buttons for quick actions:

  • 🔄 Live Timer — rerun the live countdown (ephemeral, 60s).

  • View on SIMKL — opens the SIMKL detail page for that movie/show.
