InkSpire provides several ways to view your writing, depending on what you are working on. Each view is designed for a different purpose, such as writing, revising, or reading through your manuscript.
This guide explains the available view modes and when to use each one.
Scene View
Scene View is the default editing mode.
- Displays a single scene in the editor
- Allows full editing and formatting
- Best for drafting and detailed revisions
This is where most writing happens.
View All Scenes
View All Scenes shows all scenes within the selected chapter.
- Displays scenes one after another
- Useful for reviewing chapter flow
- Allows you to read a chapter as a whole
This view is intended for review, not focused editing.
View Entire Book
View Entire Book displays your full manuscript in a single continuous view.
- Shows all chapters and scenes together
- Intended for reading and review
- Useful for spotting pacing, repetition, or continuity issues
This view is optimized for reading, not editing individual scenes.
Switching Between Views
You can switch between views using the toolbar or menu options.
When switching views:
- The editor updates to reflect the selected view
- No content is lost when changing views
You can move freely between views as needed.
Editing While Viewing
- Scene View supports full editing
- View All Scenes and View Entire Book are intended primarily for review
If you want to make changes, return to Scene View for the specific scene you want to edit.
Understanding What You See
If something looks different than expected:
- Make sure the correct project and chapter are selected
- Confirm which view mode is active
- Remember that chapter text comes from scenes
InkSpire displays content differently depending on the active view.
When to Use Each View
Use:
- Scene View for writing and editing
- View All Scenes for chapter-level review
- View Entire Book for full manuscript read-through
Switching views does not affect your saved content.
